Cremation services are becoming increasingly popular with 70-75% of the population selecting this option. There are many reason why one might choose a cremation service varying from personal preference to a view to keeping costs down.
A cremation can take place following a service in church where you may choose to travel to the crematorium for a small committal service (usually about 5 minutes). Another option is to have the committal performed in church and opt not to travel to the crematorium. This is a practical solution if you are having a funeral reception, for example, in the church hall.
You may decide to hold the service in the chapel at the crematorium. Services are usually 25 – 30 minutes and can be accompanied by music & visual tributes. Most cremation facilities also now offer you the choice of having the service webcast to family and friends overseas or recorded onto DVD.
